Georg, Philosoph, * Berlin 5. 4. 1878, ✝ Göttingen 10. 6. 1965; 1911 Professor in Marburg, 1916 in Göttingen, 1935 in den Ruhestand versetzt (1939-46 im Exil in Großbritannien), ab 1946 wieder in Göttingen. Mischs Arbeiten stehen in der Nachfolge seines Lehrers W. Dilthey, dessen Werke er mit herausgab. Von großer Bedeutung ist seine enzyklopädische »Geschichte der Autobiographie« (1907-62, 3 Bände).
 
Weitere Werke: Zur Entstehung des französischen Positivismus (1900); Der Weg in die Philosophie (1926); Lebensphilosophie und Phänomenologie. Eine Auseinandersetzung der Diltheyschen Richtung mit Heidegger und Husserl (1930).
